Workshops are held in a log cabin in the beautiful Welsh countryside near the historic town of Monmouth. Refreshments are provided throughout the day. Bring your own lunch or order from our local Deli which has a range of delicious options. Parking is available but there are steps to the cabin due to the nature of the location.

Stuck on a project? Need a little advice or just a space to concentrate on your sewing? Then join us at Strictly Quilting HQ for one of our Sit and Sew sessions. Helen is on hand to help with practical or design advice with plenty of tea and treats to keep you going. A relaxed, drop-in style class that allows you to book your place when it suits you. But beware – only 5 seats available so don’t wait or you might miss out.

Beginners Patchwork and Quilting Course – Day Workshop

Wanted to try patchwork and quilting but never had the chance? Been a little afraid of what is involved. Come join us on this day taster course which will open your eyes to this wonderful world! Both hand and machine techniques are covered as we begin our journey. Choose your block from a selection of patterns which can be made into a cushion or the start of a table runner or quilt.
£65 for the day.
Improvers – Doris Sampler Quilt – Day a Month workshop over 8 months.

Each session we look at a new technique including standard piecing recap, piecing triangles, curved piecing, Y seams, English Paper Piecing, bonded appliqué, Hawaiian appliqué (needle turned), stained glass appliqué, foundation piecing in three ways including a Mariner’s Compass, Clam Shells, Improv and Seminole/Strip piecing.
We aim to look at two blocks a day, these are to be finished at home, although we do spend a full day on the Mariner’s Compass. This course if perfect for those who have pieced before but are looking to extend their skills learning various different techniques, looking at both traditional and modern methods. Both hand and machine options are covered, and used, to make the various different blocks and I always like to include a little of the historical background of P&Q.
£65 a day and we can select dates to suit all.

50% Deposit is required to book your space. Payment in full must be made two weeks in advance for project classes. (Retreats require payment one month in advance.)
Payment in full must be made when booking to hold your place for sit and sew classes.

Cancellations
Bookings may be cancelled up to 14 days before the advertised date, for a full refund.
For retreats cancellation policy is on the information/booking sheet.
Within 14 days NO refund will be given unless we are able to re-sell your space.
Should we need to cancel a workshop a full refund will be given.
