Description
Having completed a block of Hawaiian appliqué I found I really enjoyed it. It was during the Covid-19 lockdown period when all of our holidays were no longer viable and, being inspired by the leaves and shapes in my own garden, I thought what a great way to have a ‘Hawaiian Staycation’. I found a lovely Ombré fabric which drifted through pale blue, pale green to a delicate lilac, ending in a dusky purple. Colours that I felt reminded me of an English garden. The leaves are based on Hawthorn and Ivy with the flowers being from the wild geranium growing outside my back door. Scrap or Fat Quarter friendly, the magic happens when you add the traditional Hawaiian echo quilting. Full sized templates included. Previously published in British Patchwork and Quilting magazine.
Finished size: 19″ by 42″ (48cm by 108cm)
